Reconciliation is the Key!
reconciliation – the action of making one view compatible with another; to resolve or settle a matter.
Wherefore in all things it behooved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to Elohim, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he himself has suffered being tempted, he is able to help them that are tempted.
Hebrews 2:17-18
Exemplary
The referees in sports contests are some of the best examples of what reconciliation really means. Some plays in football, for example, require a discussion of what was observed from multiple perspectives to determine the proper way to apply the rules and move forward.
A Closer Look
True reconciliation requires us to do some critical thinking about our practices and what is truly efficacious for us all. Freedom is nothing without responsibility.
We have to ask questions like: what are our collective needs? How do we define need as a society? Are our old ways of measuring success stifling us?
These are difficult questions that have various answers. They require reconciliation.
Come Together!
We all have different pieces of a very complex puzzle. As we move forward, we need to value the unique perspectives of those we share the planet with. Remember! The planet is a gift to us all.
The vanity of one nation, person or entity should not overwhelm the ability to be objective and empathetic. Rulers of the earth must be prudent and recognize that the Father has servants in his kingdom that are responsible for justice.
See Psalm 2
💯
I love the referee analogy. We all have differing perspectives because we view life from different positions. As we honor each other’s giftings and differences we get closer to what God intended giving the world tangible evidence of the oneness and unity that happens when each persons’ voice and perspective is valued.
Amen!
