Our Father Cares
I’m so glad that our heavenly Father truly cares for all. He even cares for those others despise. He cares for those who are victimized and even secures justice for them. For some reason in American culture, we shun people who are victims even though much of the population is perpetually victimized in some way.
We have built up an entire jargon around measuring how fast someone is able to “overcome” his or her trauma. I’m so glad that our heavenly Father doesn’t just care for us, he heals us thoroughly. And though it does take time, he never shames us while we heal. He reveals to us the depth of our sickness and works true contrition in us.
All the while, he loves us.

“Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God, maker of heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them; who keeps faith forever; who secures justice for those who are wronged, gives food to the hungry.”
