Essence Over Image #2

In my first Essence Over Image blog post, I was hopeful that the openness of the January 6th Committee hearings were the start of integrity and transparency in government. I am encouraged that the Department of Justice seems to be acting within its rights as an agency with detailed information that allows it to be objective, hopefully, with collecting more evidence of wrongdoing by the former President.

Politics has dominated the US government for so long that it “shocks the system” when someone does his or her job in spite of the fallout. The responses of many elected officials after the raid of Donald Trump’s estate raise appropriate alarm. However, where was this alarm when many of the unprecedented behaviors Donald Trump committed were done? Is the alarm due to the belief that there’s innocence on the part of the former President?

I reiterate: “I hope we make history instead of imitating it.” Let’s do the right things and follow our own rules! There should definitely be the requisite transparency and fidelity in our processes, but let’s not second guess ourselves just because we don’t like the results. While I’m sure there’s “more than meets the eye” about all of this, we know that there is responsibility at the highest levels of government for the January 6th riot.

  1. You know what I think the problem is: lack of true faith. While many of us have strong faith, the knowledge of what we believe may lack. Our faith should guide our integrity! Do we have good judgment?
  2. I suggest a look at Integrated Wholeness. My philosophy of spiritual education takes a different approach to faith and God. When our heavenly Father is our focus, we can avoid some of the pitfalls of life.
  3. When we elect candidates for public office, what is our primary influence? Have only one or two issues dominated our political opinion? Do we really trust our political parties? Do we think it really matters what we think?
  4. Are we mature enough to really look and see how the immorality and corruption of our leadership and its ways are leading to the collapse of America?
  5. It really does matter to our heavenly Father what we think. If enough citizens of faith and integrity begin to take the lead in truth, we can truly change the world.
